I just want to document that I was responsible for coining the phrase: "Wigging out", Wigged out" , 'He wears the wig", " Wiggin'".
This was done on October 25, 1977, in Garden Grove, California, in Charlie Penate's garage at a HS party. The main referneces were to my friend Ken Evans. He came with us to the party wearing a long blond wig over his face. People were amused and bemused. I simply looked at him and explained that he is "Wigging out!"," he wears the wig!" The rest is history. Anyone who graduated from Rancho Alamitos HS in Garden Grove , CA can attest that this term was first heard at this time. I therefore, claim to be the person who first coined this phrase in its current usage in pop culture.
