No Slack for Charlee (To the tune of “No Sleep Til Brooklyn”)
By Padrig Boles
Oct 2009
Foot on the peddle- no speeding though
Oatmeals’ really very hot
My job is to study- its starts very early
Home to church- I’m learning my scriptures
Even at school- I teach the gospel
Dad’s in Young men’s
Mom’s the new Young Women’s prez
I do what I do cause of my testimony
Ain’t no faking – the time its taking
Mom and Dad are always there
Watchin my every move
Seminary, Wednesday Night, Sunday
No Slack for…..
Another morning, the alarm goes off
Another run in the dark to church
Another devotional, did I forget?
Another personal progress goal met
My Mom is awesome- she always prepares
She’s got her own way, a real cool stare
All through the scriptures- the word is the same
Jesus loved us, so he did his thing
We’re learn the masteries like its going out of style
Getting blessings along the way all the while
Beehives in charge I cannot hide
Mom’s always asking what do I have planned
We got cookies and punch in the trunk
With veggies and ice cream it’s a slam dunk
No Slack for….
No Slack for Charlee…..
Ain’t seen the light since volleyball started
Dad doesn’t miss a step with me
Born and bred LDS nation
They call me “tall girl” but I like “Creation”
Like a lemon to a lime – a lime to a lemon
I attend all my meeting, practices, then bed time
Got Mom’s taxi, my regular desk, and Family Home Evening
Service projects, and classy dances
Step off haters, get out of my way
Teaching and serving and helping all day
Waking up before my peers
Cause I’ll be living this church seven days a week
No Slack for Charlee…..
No Slack for Charlee…..
No Slack for Charlee…..
No Slack for Charlee…..
No Slack for Charlee…..
